Sidewalk Concrete Leveling

Make uneven sidewalks safer and easier to use.

Metro Wide raises settled sidewalk and walkway panels with polyurethane foam throughout the Kansas City metro. A precise lift can improve uneven joints and transitions while preserving concrete that is still in serviceable condition.

Reduce Uneven Transitions

Lift low walkway panels instead of accepting the trip point.

Sidewalk slabs are exposed to changing soil moisture, tree-root influence, erosion, and the movement of nearby driveways or steps. When one panel drops below the next, the edge can become difficult to navigate and detract from the approach to a home or business.

Polyfoam leveling supports the slab from underneath. After reviewing the walkway and surrounding grades, we place expanding foam below the low section through small drilled ports. The material fills space beneath the concrete and allows a controlled lift toward a smoother transition.

Walkways we can assess

  • Front walks leading from the driveway or street.
  • Side-yard paths between the home and property line.
  • Uneven panels near porches, steps, and landings.
  • Concrete walks around small commercial properties.
  • Transitions where a sidewalk meets a driveway or patio.

Benefits of Sidewalk Leveling

A small repair can make a high-traffic path work better.

Address trip hazards

Reducing abrupt height differences can make routine foot traffic, deliveries, and property access more comfortable.

Preserve usable concrete

When the panels remain structurally sound, lifting may avoid the waste and disruption of removing the entire walk.

Improve the approach

Better alignment at driveways, stoops, gates, and entry walks creates a cleaner first impression.

Sidewalk Leveling FAQ

Helpful answers before you schedule an evaluation.

Can every raised edge be fixed by lifting?

No. Sometimes the higher panel has moved upward or tree roots are actively displacing the concrete. We evaluate the direction of movement before recommending a repair.

Do you level the sidewalk next to steps?

Yes, when site conditions and slab condition allow. The correct final height depends on the step, porch, doorway, and adjacent panels.

Does leveling fix drainage?

Changing a slab’s position can improve some low areas, but the broader drainage source may require gutters, grading, or other work outside the concrete lift.

Connected Repairs

Look beyond the single uneven joint.

Sidewalk settlement often connects to nearby concrete. A dropped driveway panel can pull away from the walk, while a low porch landing can create another awkward transition at the opposite end. We look at those relationships so the lift solves the right problem.
